My father told me about this video, and I watched it out of curiosity. I’m now more confused than ever. If this is true, that Obama can’t produce an original birth certificate, why isn’t the media all over this?
My father had some lengthy explanation that I just didn’t get, and therefore I can’t remember all that he said — however, he did say that Alan Keyes has filed a suit against Obama as well. (He also mentioned that Nancy Pelosi once questioned whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger could be President since he’s not a natural born citizen – and she supported changing the rule to 35-year US residency for naturalized citizens, and my father finds this strange, saying she may know that Obama is not a natural born citizen as well. That’s just too much conspiracy theory for me to digest in one day.)
The other day I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Mrs. Furious. She’s an amazing diarist and I strongly recommend you check out her blog. You’ll become addicted as I have.
Anyway, after watching one of her awesome video updates, the link to the video below popped up. I was like, “Who is that woman?” So I clicked on the link and watched. I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or gouge out my own eyes.
Honestly, something about this video freaks me out.
I discovered Sharon Jones a few months ago when I accidentally downloaded this song on iTunes. I honestly don’t know how one accidentally purchases a song by an artist they have never heard before, but I’m so glad I did.
This woman has a voice and a style that make me get up out of my chair and dance in my dining room.
Pardon the French introduction to the video above…after that you will see Ms. Jones and her talent and you will agree…she rocks it.
I love her music so much I went back and downloaded the rest of the albums. (Yes. Plural, as in more that one). They are fantastic. I highly recommend this music!
In many ways, Sharon Jones reminds me of Etta James and Aretha Franklin, or a combination of both, perhaps, yet her style is so original to me. I just can’t get enough.
Here she is with the amazing Dap Kings on Letterman. Enjoy!
Dana began her Mom career in 2004 with the birth of her eldest son, Dawson, aka The Doodlebug. She spends her days catering to a 5-year-old, she denies her habit of compulsive vacuuming, and just recently gave birth to Owen, aka Monster Baby. She's definitely living La Vida Loca and wouldn't want it any other way. More About Dana.
