Hello, Summer!
Now that school is out (I graduated May 17th), I’ve been focusing on all the things I neglected over the last two years. My house is a wreck. Well, it was a wreck. I’ve managed to clean, organize and rearrange and I feel like I live in a home again. I’m still tackling some of the clutter. Most of it is random papers that I put into piles. I don’t know what the logic was when I did this, but there are piles in the dining room, on the kitchen table, on my night stand, on top of the filing cabinet. Ugh. What the hell was I doing? I don’t remember.
Dawson’s last day of school was June 6th and over the last week and a half he has been busy, busy busy. T-ball was his favorite activity and his last game was tonight (it began in early May). He had four awesome hits and he made a great play at short stop, getting an out at second base. He was so excited. My parents, my brothers and my sister-in-law were there to cheer him on. Dawson was so excited.
Owen is happy to have Dawson home. They both go to daycare (private home daycare) when Doug and I are at work and Owen loves having his big brother to play with. Our daycare person said he lights up when Dawson gives him attention. I think it’s sweet.
I’ve been working my butt off at the gym. I canceled our family membership at the YMCA because it was expensive and we weren’t going like we should have. Owen hated the daycare there, and living in another town makes it hard to coordinate schedules. Instead I joined Anytime Fitness. I LOVE IT. They have two locations close to me, too. One is just blocks from my house and the other is blocks from work. It’s a win-win.
I’ve gone to the gym every day except Sunday for the last two weeks and so far I’m down ten pounds. I lost 2 inches in my waist and 1 inch in my hips and I’m excited to shrink this body some more. I am super motivated now that I have no excuse not to go. The goal is to lose 50 pounds by December. I have a few motivators, too. My 15 year class reunion is in August (when did I get so old?) and I have several fall weddings to attend.
I’m looking forward to beach days, amusement park visits and other summer activities we have planned. What are you up to this summer?
