Blog ‘N Run…

It’s the second day of June, and already life has become hella bizzay.  My goodness.  I can’t even keep up! I have three posts sitting in my draft bin, staring at me, demanding to know when I’m going to publish them.  I don’t really know where to begin, so you’re getting bullets for now.  Is this okay?  If it’s not okay, someone tell me, because I feel awful doing a Blog ‘N Run.

  • Friday afternoon, on the way to daycare, we discovered that the usual road we take was closed due to construction.  We took the detour, only to witness a motorcycle accident.  Dawson, sitting higher in his carseat, witnessed almost everything, including the rider laying in the street.  I freaked out when he asked me, “Mumma, is that guy gonna die?”  My hands started to shake and I didn’t know how to respond.  I simply said, “There are lots of doctors and policeman trying to help him. “  Dawson then replied, “Mumma, we should pray for him.  In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit…”  I was amazed.  He even placed his hand properly on his forehead and chest, making the sign of the cross.  There’s a perfectly good explanation for this, namely, my mother.
  • Friday night I saw the Sex and the City Movie.  Still more to come about this.  Don’t let me forget okay?  Promise? (This is one of the drafts, mocking me as I blog this.)
  • Doug had been gone all weekend on a fishing trip, leaving me alone with the Monster.  We decided to go to a graduation party on Saturday afternoon.  When we got home a couple hours later, I got ambitious and cut 3/4 of our acre of lawn.  When I was finished, my feet were stained green (I wore junky old flip-flops because I didn’t want my normal shoes to get dirty) and I could barely climb the steps in our house.  It was a ton of work, but I’m so proud of myself.  And the lawn looks awesome.
  • Yesterday we went to an air show at the Stevens Point Municipal Airport.  We had a great time looking at the many different planes on display and the acrobatics were very cool.  My mother hated that part.  I swear she was having a heart attack when these planes would spiral and free fall and cut out the engines for a few seconds.  Dawson and I wanted to take a helicopter ride, but the line was longer than the Amazon, and the cost was just a bit too much.  We decided to wait until our trip to the Dells to do something that daring.

Today, I have to go to the dentist, take Murphy to the vet, drive to Wausau to pick up Julianne Hough’s debut CD that I won from the radio station up there, get a few things from Sam’s Club and come back home to finish bloggy stuff and clean the house. I’m having a panic attack about all this busy-ness!

Dana began her Mom career in 2004 with the birth of her eldest son, Dawson, aka The Doodlebug. She spends her days catering to a 5-year-old, she denies her habit of compulsive vacuuming, and just recently gave birth to Owen, aka Monster Baby. She's definitely living La Vida Loca and wouldn't want it any other way.
