I'm a very liberal republican (yes, there is such a thing), and like you, I crossed party lines this time around. I won't go into the details, as I am pretty private, politically speaking, but bring on Obama.

Knowing that you voted Obama makes me feel even better about my decision to support him as well. If he doesn't win the nomination (which isn't likely), I'd rather vote for the Republican candidate than for Hillary, and I've NEVER voted Republican.

I was so excited about the thought of a woman President until she started actually talking. She doesn't inspire a feeling of trust in me, and Mr. Obama does. But I can sure see why that was a hard decision for you, thanks for sharing !

Dana, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 24 and in every single election (be it presidental, gubernatorial, or otherwise) I have always voted republican in the general election. This November I will vote Obama. I was curious, though, about your reasoning why you were voting for him. You like his health care plan? As a republican, that's what you should like LEAST about him. You like his education plan? As a republican, that's what you should like second least about him. Don't expect either of these action items to ever make it past Congress...they both border on all out socialism. He is, however, a definite agent of change that this country needs.

I squealed very loudly when I read the post title. :) I've never known Republicans who would ever cross party lines, mostly because of the abortion issue. I voted for him, too, but that's not why I feel so proud of you. You REALLY thought about your choice, and that makes you special.

Good on you, Dana - for all the forty-three years, nine months and...um...however many days I've been alive - this is the FIRST time I've voted outside the Replican box.

Hello, my name is Liz. I voted for Obama and I'm comfortably numb.
