Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired

We spent another day at home, fighting the viruses that have taken over our bodies. Dawson sounds like a barking seal when he hacks and coughs. I’m suffering a nostril disaster. It amazes me that all this snot can come out of one person’s nose.

We’re still eating soup and drinking lots of fluids. Water for me, juice for the Doodlebug. I’m praying I’ll be able to go back to work tomorrow, because I don’t think I can’t stand one more day with a very demanding, whiny, three-year-old.

I know it’s not his fault that he doesn’t understand that Mommy is sick, too. But it would be nice to sleep peacefully, without having my eyelids pried open by tiny hands, and hearing a voice scream into my face, “Mommy! I waaaaant moooore juuuuiicce!”  Is that really so much to ask?

Even the dog feels sorry for me. Murphy lays next to me, curled into my legs and each time I whimper he licks my feet. Bless that little dog. He knows the tiny human brought this virus home and growls when ever Dawson comes near me. I think the dog is trying to protect me from that little alien.

Anyway, I’m going to bed early, again. Enough is enough. I’m thinking about putting on six layers of clothes and sweating it out. Who knows? Maybe I’ll melt off some extra pounds of fat in the process. A girl can dream, right?

  3. Yuck! I know how you feel. Get well soon.

  4. My advice: curl up in the blankets and watch a playoff game. Nothing like football to take your mind off real life!

  5. nostril disasters make me nuts!
