I Hate Sick
This morning:
“Dawson, sweetie, time to wake up!”
“Ehhhhnnnnn”
“I know, Bug, it’s too early. But Mumma has to go to work today. We gotta get ready.”
“Nooooooooooooooo, Mommy! Dawson’s tummy is yucky. I wanna sweeeeeep.”
“Honey, I know you’re tired. You can sleep at Renee’s.”
“Ahhhhhhhh. No, Dawson is not feeling better.”
“Are you sick?”
“Dawson is sick. Mommy?”
“Yeah?”
“I hate sick!!”
“Me too, Bug. Me too.”
And so we stayed home with our colds, ate chicken noodle soup, and tried to get better. And sixteen hours later we still feel like shit. Fucking cold virus.

We are hanging in there, difficult as it is. I was so happy to see my husband when he got home from work. He brought hot vegetable soup from the deli. Yum.
