Best of 2007 Awards
The year 2007 has slipped by and we are now entering a new year. But before I get too excited over the new year and all the great things to come, I want to go over the best of my 2007.
Best Vacation Award:
Our family Iowa trip wins this one hands down. We got to spend a very wonderful 80th birthday with the kid’s great grandmother and see a lot of our relatives.
Best Date Night Award:
This award was difficult as Hubby and I rarely get date nights anymore. The winner is my birthday. Hubby and I got all dressed up in our “goth club wear” and headed out for a night at the local “goth club”. I danced my butt off all night long and got to see a lot of our friends. Too bad we only made it to just past midnight. LOL
Best Recipe Award:
I learned a great new recipe for steak. It is very simple and my family loved it. You melt butter and garlic and then poor it over steaks that have been sliced and set onto very yummy crunchy bread. I am craving some right now.
Best Little Bear Moment:
There are so many to choose from. It’s almost mean of me to pick just one. However, the award goes to the Santa visit. We took the girls to visit Santa at the Children’s Museum and just knew that Little Bear would freak out in tears when we tried the Santa’s lap thing. We had a Santa hat at home and she refused to let anyone wear it because it scared her. Being the awful mother that I am, I decided that we would set her down on his knee and run out of the frame while the picture was snapped. To our surprise and delight, Little Bear sat there and even told Santa that she wanted trains for Christmas.
Best Miss Turtle Moment:
Again, there are so many to choose from and the best moment for Miss Turtle is a tie.
1) Her softball team won first place in the league. All of the girls were new to the league and the sport and they all worked so hard both individually and as a team and it really paid off.
2) In a similar fashion, Miss Turtle worked so hard all year to perfect her riding skills and this year was awarded the Reserve Champion award at the annual horse show banquet. It was so awesome to not only watch her hard work pay off, but to watch her realize how much her hard work paid off.
Best Hubby Moment:
Seeing his face when the girls handed him a note announcing that he would be a new daddy again.
Best Overall Moment:
This award is also being given to two moments this year. It is too hard to pick between the two and both moments were amazing.
1) When the second line on the stick turned pink after 8 months of negative tests. We were so excited to be pregnant!
2) Just yesterday we were told that our little bundle of joy would be carrying on the family name. Our girls will have a baby brother.
