The Occult
November 18 is Occult Day. I don’t know that much about it, but found some interesting sites to satisfy my curiosity.
We are enjoying a quite Sunday at home. No place to go, nothing pressing to do, and I refuse to do chores today. I’m taking a day off to do nothing. Other than chase the kid around, of course.
Speaking of Dawson, does anyone know any secret tips or tricks to STOP THE WHINING?
I can’t take it anymore. Constant whining and crying, all the time.
“Mooooooooommmmy, I want juuuuuuuice.”
“Moooooooooommmmmm, I want to go to Poooopppppaaaa’s houuuse.”
“Moooommmmmm, I’m-three-years-old-and-you’re-already-ruining-my-life-by-not- giving-into-my-every-demand!”
Someone please help me.
As I write this, the Doodlebug is tearing apart his bedroom. I’ve tried to discipline him. I made him sit in the corner for three minutes. He went right back to destruction. Five time outs later and I quit. He wins. That is until Daddy gets a hold of him.
So maybe our Sunday isn’t so quiet afterall. Nobody told me the rebellious years would begin at three years old.

I wish I had advice for you. I don’t. My little tyrant will stay in his room (that has few toys) and pull things apart, crying, until he collapses on his bed to take a nap. Whenever Ben gets whiny, I tuck him in for a nap, and I don’t open the gate back up for at least an hour. Of course, my snotty-nosed kid isn’t even two yet, so I can get away with strategies like that. I have no clue what to do with an older toddler. I look forward to seeing what advice the more veteran mommies have for you.

That whole terrible two thing is a myth - two was a breeze. Three is another story! Is it some kind of cruel joke more experienced moms like to play on us? They let us think we got off easy when we make it through two, then WHAMMO….three hits (literally).

Something must be in the air today. Amara was in one of those moods and spent most of the day being punished in her bedroom.
Here’s hoping we both have better Mondays!
