Gimme Chocolate

So, today is National Bittersweet Chocolate With Almonds Day. I can’t stop laughing about this because I had the busiest day at work in a very long time.

I woke up at the ass crack of insanity, drove 20 miles to our Wisconsin Rapids office to drop off some things another practitioner needed, broke every speed limit law known to man just to get back to my home office because my boss was arriving “bright and early!!!” to monitor our intern, and then said boss was 40 minutes late. He’s very lucky I didn’t get pulled over or I would have sent him a ticket for undue stress. Or something.

As I was frantically trying to get things done in the office, I felt a massive headache coming on — one that surely could have split my skull open. All I wanted was a tall glass of ice water, two Excedrin Migraine tablets and a chocolate candy bar.

I managed to get the water and the pills, but the chocolate was a no go. Figures.

I almost missed a NaBlo post, too! I didn’t get home until two hours ago. How’s that for a chaotic day?

And just so you all know, I’m freakin’ out as I type this.  It’s dark and cold and windy outside and I swear I hear footsteps on our deck.  But we have a fenced in back yard.  A burglar would have to do a pole vault just to get over the fence.  Okay, maybe not a pole vault, but definitely a very tall hurdle.

Perhaps we have a few post-Halloween spooks out there?

  2. Maybe it was just some very large raccoons.

  3. Can Raccoons jump fences? I suppose they can. It really scared me. I kept thinking I left the dog outside and he was pawing to get in, but little Murphy was sleeping on our bed so it wasn’t him!

  4. Honey honey honey. You keep talking about driving too fast. Aunt Suebob is here to tell you she is worried about you and that you need to slow down.

You have a family that needs you, and you certainly don’t want to cause an accident and ruin someone else’s life, either. Our main job on the road is to arrive SAFELY and we all need to work together as one big human team to make this happen.

Deep breaths. You can do it. Hug.

  5. Very true! I do need to slow down. Not only when I’m driving, but in this chaos called life!

It may be time to go back to yoga. I was a calmer person then.

  6. Every day is bittersweet chocolate day here!
