I Was a Busy Bee
My weekend was very productive. I know. You are surprised. Especially since I’m just a ball of chaos all the time. I’m always telling you how I’m so busy, and all over the place, and running around with my head detached from my body. Finally, I was able to negotiate some much needed time sans Dawson in order to get shit done.
When I finished work on Friday, I sped over to Renee’s (a.k.a daycare person) to pick up Dawson, flew over to the bank to drop off the deposit for work, and ran through McDonald’s to get a Happy Meal for Dawson (he’s infatuated with the Bee Movie toys) and a large soda for me.
When we got home, I didn’t even pull into the driveway, but instead parked by the mailbox, grabbed the mail and the sped over to my personal bank to deposit some checks I was waiting for the last few days. I’m sorta lucky I didn’t get a speeding ticket the way I was driving.
Once we were back home, I helped Dawson out of the car and into the house, Happy Meal in hand and told my sweet, kind, considerate husband (yes, I was buttering him up) that I needed him to take Dawson out of the house all day Saturday so I could finally get down to cleaning our humble abode.
He agreed to help (because I promised flesh favors at a date TBD) and I was making a metal list of all the things that needed tackling.
- Clean and organize my scrap booking, stamping and craft area.
- Sweep and mop kitchen and dining room foors.
- Go through the 50 magazines I’ve not had the time or energy to read, sort them oldest first and make a plan to read and recycle them.
- File all the important papers piling up on top of the filing cabinet.
- Reorganize the kitchen cabinets.
- Dust and vacuum the living room.
- Put all of Dawson’s toys away. Especially the ones that seem to linger in places they don’t belong.
- Wash the windows in the living room and dining room. Clean the glass doors on the tv stand and curios.
- Make sure to write all this down.
I woke up at 7:30 on Saturday morning and began tackling my craft corner. That alone took two hours. It wouldn’t have been so difficult had I maintained some order the last time I did this, but I usually become distracted by other things when I try to do anything. You know, like my three-year-old.
Doug took Dawson over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house at around 10 a.m. and I managed to complete my entire list by 4:30 that afternoon. I was shocked. I couldn’t believe I managed to get it all done. It’s amazing what a mom can do when her kids are occupied (I’m talking about Dawson and Doug. Heh.)
That left Sunday free for fun time! I picked up all the photos I had printed at Walmart, dropped off some things I borrowed from my friend and then took Dawson to see this movie. We loved it. Jerry Seinfeld has such a knack for comedy. Who knew? (hehehe) Definitely a must see.
After the movie we went to the park to feed the ducks, and I managed to listen to the last twenty minutes of the Packer game. Those last few moments were action packed and I nearly crashed the car when I heard “touchdown!!!” come blaring out of my stereo. Green Bay won 33 to 22 over the Kansas City Chiefs. Charles Woodson and Craig Jennings rocked the Pack. Green Bay is now 7-1 and my sister and I can’t wait to see the Packers kick some Viking ass next Sunday!
I almost forgot! For all the NaBloPoMoer’s out there, today is Gunpowder Day. Isn’t that interesting? Okay. Maybe not.
Happy Monday!

I’m impressed that you got your whole to-do list done! If that had been my list, I would have started reading the 50 magazines and completely lost track of time. Happy Gunpowder Day! lol

I have that much to do, as well — but I’m tired just reading about it!

PunditMom! That’s how felt at first. Tired. But large amounts of caffeine helped!
