No Internet? Big Problem!

I am over at The Imperfect Parent today.

I know. It’s 10:15 p.m. Kind of late to tell you all that. If you knew about the internet trouble I had today, you would completely understand.

Eleven hours.

That’s how long I was without internet connection. I know that’s nothing. But when you’re addicted like me, it feels like an eternity.

We had an internet outage due to approaching bad weather. FOR ELEVEN HOURS.

So most of you will be reading this post on Friday. Please head over to my Home/Office column and leave me a comment. I’ll love you more than I do now if you do. And if you can’t get over there, I’ll still love you.

Because I’m cool like that.

Happy Friday.

  1. I had a lot of connectivity issues a couple of weeks ago. It was so frustrating. I kept calling my husband at work to complain and ask if he could fix it over the phone. Apparently he’s not that good.

  2. We had a microburst here a couple months ago that took out both the cable and phone lines so we had no internet *or* TV for 36 hours. We had to read books! Just thinking about that horrific experience again is giving me the shakes…

  3. Cheryl, that would drive me batshit crazy. I can’t believe (well, yes I can) how dependent I am on the ‘net.

Prescott, I feel your pain. I was freaking out and my husband (who hates the internet) thought I should be admitted to Surfer’s Anonymous.

  4. I’m lucky enough to have 2 neighbors with wireless and no pwd …. I get itchy without my computer.

  5. Isn’t it funny. 11 hours feels like a HUGE amount of time to be unplugged. I go through withdrawals when that stuff happens. Kind of funny to think about how we managed without the internet (and blogging) years ago.

  6. Friday afternoon, Amara and I arrived home to a neighborhood without electricity. So what’s a mom to do? Heck, I’ll blog. Shows you how oblivious I am to how things work — yeah needed power for the router. I was ticked. So I feel your pain.

Hope you had a good weekend!
