Not a Good Start to the Day

There is nothing I hate more than taking a vacation day from work, planning an entire day of housework and other miscellaneous tasks, and then waking up on that day, sick as a dog.

It never fails.  Murphy’s Law was in full force for me.  I wanted to get the house in order, do some laundry, organize Dawson’s room, organize my crafts area, run a few errands before tomorrow’s trip to Appleton; all before my husband took me to dinner for our sixth wedding anniversary.

Instead, I spent my morning in the bathroom with the dreaded diarrhea.  By 12:30 this afternoon I was on the phone, in tears, telling my sweet and caring husband that he would have to cancel our restaurant reservation.

Being the amazing man that he is, he understood completely and told me to rest up because a certain three-year-old would drain every ounce of my energy at tomorrow’s field trip to see Go, Diego, Go! Live!

The only thing worse is that it is now 5:15 p.m. and I feel better.  So much better that I wish we didn’t cancel that dinner res.  Fate sucks the big one.

What makes this series of events a bit easier to deal with is that Doug is using his exceptional culinary skills to make stuffed manicotti for  dinner.  I love that man.

In the end, things do work themselves out.  Crap, that was a bad pun! Ha, ha, ha!  I did it again.

Okay…I’m shutting up now.
