The Queen of the Road Hath Spoken

If I were Queen of the Road, the first thing I would do is banish all drivers who fail to signal.

This is my number one pet peeve.  (Well that, and my husband chewing tobacco.)

It always seems to happen to me.  I’m driving to work, I’m going just over the speed limit because like me, everyone else is rushing to work, too.

And then I get stuck behind the one driver who goes one mile UNDER the speed limit, as if he’s just doodling along on a Sunday drive.  And then he slows down, slower yet, and I get really impatient…..trying not to purposely ram into the slower-than-molasses-idiot….and what does he do?

He turns left with no signal.  NO SIGNAL!  It DRIVES me MAD!

And I lose it.  I absolutely lose my mind and suffer an instant case of road rage where I yell at the sonuvabitch and give him the middle finger.

I know.  I shouldn’t let my blood pressure rise over something so ridiculous.

But if I were Queen, these morons would have their licenses revoked.

Revoked I doth say!

(Too over the top with the Old English?)

  1. I get frustrated with the people who leave their signal on, like they’re going right around the world. Bah!

I don’t miss driving in work traffic, but I will admit it has me out of practice. I’m not the greatest driver anymore. Recently, the family was in the car and I was behind the wheel. After cutting someone off, Dave told me I was a bad driver. I told him, “No, it’s not that I’m bad, I’m just not really concentrating.”

He said that makes me a bad driver.

Yeah. That’d be a true statement.

But I’m good when I try.

  2. Yeah, I hate those drivers too. I also hate the drivers who insist on tailgating you to make you speed up. And I’m already speeding. So what do I do? I slow down to the speed limit. Yeah…then they’re really pissed.

  3. Leslie, I am the same way. I don’t have the patience to concentrate when all the drivers around me are idiots. It’s awful. So, I guess I’m a bad driver, too! (And I too, HATE, when people leave their signal on.)

Yoshi, that drives me nuts, as well. I guess I have more than one driving pet peeve!

  4. I’m with Yoshi. I hate tailgaters. My favorite is when I’m not in the left lane, going speed limit and some jerk tailgates me because he’s too lazy to change lanes. So what do I do? It sucks to be that driver when I decide to go 40 mph on the freeway, eh?
