It’s A Date
Even though I didn’t win the contest over at The Parent Bloggers Network, my husband and I managed to snag some tickets to the Rock the Brewery concert at the Point Brewery on Saturday night; and I managed to snag a babysitter (my younger brother) so we’re going to enjoy ourselves, dammit!
I’m excited about getting out of the house. This means my legs will actually be shaved, I will wear an outfit that doesn’t have juice or chocolate smeared on it, and Dawson will have fun playing Thomas the Tank Engine and Lightning McQueen with his uncle Frank.
I’m not sure how I feel about Richard Marx, but I’m okay with Steppenwolf and Starship. Doug is a little irked about having to drink Point beer. He’s a Bud Light guy. I’m sure he’ll manage, since it’s free.
He got the good tickets. The VIP tickets. The ones that include the food and fun pre-concert. We’ve gone to this concert nearly every year. I skipped last year because of other circumstances, but ended up partying with the neighbors at a bonfire/graduation party extravaganza. That was the weekend Doug went fishing with his buddy. I even went in 2004, six months pregnant, just to see beloved REO Speedwagon. It was the best time.
I’m really excited about date night. I wonder if he read this blog entry and decided to take matters into his own hands?
I’m not questioning his motives. The music will be too loud for adult conversation, but we can dance the night away to classic rock!

Hahaha, Leslie! I don’t even remember a single song Richard Marx sang. I think I was like 12 when he was popular.
