Real Moms, Consumed by Baby Love
Real moms love their children so deeply that they want to keep their precious babies neatly tucked in their hearts, everywhere they go.
We love our ”little miracles” so much that it consumes us. There is no other emotion that measures up to motherhood. We love our sons and daughters so much, we hate it. We hate worrying that our children will grow up and leave the nest and have to survive in the real world. The same real world that we ourselves struggle in, day after day. But we perservere. We never give up. We don’t throw in the towel when we’re tired, hungry, frustrated or in desperate need of a three minute shower. We put our children first, and often feel guilty when wey indulge ourselves in the least bit.
We share a bond with other mothers. A bond so strong that we’d go to bat for our fellow mom in a flash. We’re not afraid to join together and love our children, brag about our children, support our children, love each other’s children. It may take a village to raise a child, but that village is mostly mothers, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, godmothers. We nurture ourselves, our kinswomen, our children.
We are made from a common blueprint. We are all very different, but our core is the same: we have hearts of gold, filled to the brim with love for our children.

Real Moms. Loving our children so much it even makes US sick.

Well put, sister. And I LOVE that picture of Dawson – that is completely adorable and worthy of a high-pitched “awwwww!” tee hee! Definitely will check out the link after lunch. Finally got one little sick miracle to sleep; the other is snuffling in the living room. Must feed her lunch. It seems so wrong to have colds when it’s so gloriously warm outside.

As we’re figuring out this daycare mess, I discovered another “Real Mom” fact last night. Real moms can’t bear the thought of their child’s heart breaking. The thought of Ben being truly sad and heartbroken (and not because I won’t let him play with the lotion bottle) sends me into hysterics. For how much heartache my siblings and I have had over the years, it’s a wonder how my mother survived.
