Oh Rosie…

Rosie O’Donnell. The mere mention of her name makes my face sour. It wasn’t always like this. Growing up, I thought Rosie was too cool. I loved her in A League of Their Own, Now and Then and The Flintstones. Even when my parents frowned upon her obnoxious behavior and the fact that she is gay, I still thought Rosie was a good person who cared for others.

Lately, I feel she is losing her grip on reality. It pains me to say it. I like The View, it’s fun banter when I’m bored with The Price Is Right, but Rosie is starting to get on my nerves.

Her liberal, extremist views are sometimes off the wall. Her venom for anything “right wing” or conservative, and even Republican for that matter, is offensive. She often doesn’t think before she speaks and cares not who she insults or hurts.

I’m disappointed, Rosie. As a soon-to-be-ex fan, I wonder, when will you see that you’re burning bridges you may need to cross someday? I know I was just a teenager when you were at the beginning of your career of fame….but I liked you. I wonder what happened to that funny woman who made me laugh? Now, I only see the woman who makes me cry.

**Also, please visit me at BlogHer.  I’m spending a lot of my time there.  Won’t you join me?

  1. I’m an on-the-fence democrat right now. That whole Pelosi going to Syria against the State Department’s wishes thing and then screwing up the message was the last straw for me. // Anyway. I also think Rosie is losing her freaking mind. I catch your posts at BlogHer all the time, but I never remember to log-in over there so I can comment. :) I’m there lurking, but maybe you can still sense the camaraderie anyway.

  2. I am a fairly hardcore liberal, but I am not digging Rosie’s message right now. Spewing venom gets us nowhere. I do love that she speaks her mind, but she’s verging on crazy right now.
