Give Me A Hint

In my quest to lose weight and be more healthy, I have been spending time online, researching new recipes and logging my points at Weight Watchers.

It’s going well, I’ve lost a few pounds of water so far.  But my struggles come in many forms.  For example, I love soda.  My Sprite was a daily occurance, but it has so much sugar and it really is empty calories.

I’ve managed to guzzle my required recommended 8 glasses of water each day, no problem (well except for the constant peeing in the beginning, now I’m pretty much absorbing it all).  But I need some flavor.

And so I discovered Hint.  Kara Goldin of San Francisco is a mother of four and busy entrepreneur of this fantastic flavored water.  She has recently been featured in the February issue of Shape Magazine.  Her product has also been seen on Grey’s Anatomy!

Her idea came from adding lime and tangerine slices into her kids water glasses.  And so her business began.

I went online and researched the nine different flavors.  A case of 24 is $44.  I’m so intrigued, I’m ordering my first case!

Let the weight loss continue.  I’ve already been putting cucumber and lemon in my water bottle, but I think Kara’s drink is much more convenient, and the bottles are attractive, too!

  1. Do you think that’s a lot for water? I dunno. Right now I’m being very cheap about it and am drinking Diet Rite which I actually ADD to plain water and make it last all day. It’s a great little trick that a girlfriend told me about.

Also, I’m cheap. At least about that.

  2. Mmm, that looks yummy. I am trying to diet as well so I’m always looking for sneaky ways to get more water into my system (I have an addiction to Coke — not diet, either.) Thanks for the recommendation.

  3. Same problem for me - water is boring! I love pop! I have pretty much quit my 15-year-long abusive relationship with Diet Pepsi thanks to these new little single serving powder packs that you add to a 500ml water bottle that make it taste like iced tea or lemonade and are sweetened with sucralose rather than aspartame. So far so good. Totally recommended. Nestea and Crystal Light make tons of other flavours too. Enjoy! Love the new blog layout!

  4. Eva! Those are great suggestions! Thank you! The hardest part for me was giving up soda. I still miss it, but the water is helping me more than I realized! My complexion is getting better.

  5. i’ve seen hint water around at my local whole foods. i asked the manager when it would go on sale (because it’s incredibly expensive, even compared to other fancy kinds) and he told me to be careful because after a few weeks, the water starts to ‘color.’ think of when fruit start to rot. not cool. the idea is interesting but the after effects are not. bummer. and i totally agree with dana.. water is fantastic for the complexion!!
