Famous People

Yesterday was my first company meeting for this new job.  My co-worker B. and I had to drive to Fond du Lac.  We had a great time during the drive, talking and laughing, and realizing that our husbands went to high school together and we know pretty much all the same people.

At the meeting, I got to meet the other employees from the other offices in Wisconsin and Illinois.  But the highlight of my day was finding out that I work for the same company as a certain actor’s father.

Because I want to keep my new and fabulous job, I will not type out his name.  Anyone who knows me, will tell you how much I am addicted to love CSI (Las Vegas).  I tape the show every single week.  I watch CSI weekend reruns quite often.  So when I met his father, I felt like a starstruck teenager and simply said, “I just love that show!  And E…, he’s so darn cute!”

His father simply replied, “Thank you.  Are you from Stevens Point?”  I told him I was and that the only star we’re famous for is Kathy Kinney of The Drew Carey Show (don’t get me wrong, she is awesome!) and he laughed and said, “My brother Ray is lives in Antigo, he’s the Menard’s guy!”

So, needless to say, I spent the afternoon wondering how I can arrange a date with his son — maybe we’ll meet up at an awards ceremony.  Too bad the Golden Globes are over with!

  1. How exciting! I don’t know any famous people. The closest brush with fame that I had was seeing Ivana Trump in London, but otherwise nothin’. Sounds like your new job is working out extremely well so far, and this was one more perk! :)

  2. Brenda! -hugs- Yes! This is so darn cool. I really love this job!

  3. Wow! What a trip! This new job keeps getting better and better!

  4. Wow, Star struck.. I dont even know if I would recgonize some one famous!

  5. Wow. Hey at least you know the dad! That’s pretty cool.

  6. Eric Szmanda is the CUTEST! How cool that you met his Dad. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the new job.

  7. Hey, didn’t “That 70’s Show” take place in Stevens Point?

  8. Hey! Happy New Year! I am sorry I haven’t been by in a while. Congrats on the new job.

    Much Love

  9. [...] My husband is going to kill me.  I’m not kidding.  When that box of goodies arrives next week, I will be dead.  I will be so dead that my famous actor boyfriend, Eric Szmanda, will have to leave CSI: Las Vegas for a day to investigate my death that my husband made look like a suicide. (Yes, it’s okay for me to publish his name now!  Don’t worry!) [...]
