Christmas Recap

I haven’t been around much lately and I apologize.  I’m terribly sorry for abandoning my blog and blog friends.  Please forgive me, but life has been hellish lately.

Before I continue with this post, please welcome my Uncle Mikey.  He is probably reading this and laughing.  He found my blog accidentally while searching for The Queen of Spain.  No, not Erin.  The other Queen of Spain who actually lives in Spain.  He just so happened to find Queen’s post on GBJD and my response to it.  Talk about blushing at Christmas finding out your uncle read your blog by mistake.  Oy!  It’s a strange feeling, but I told him I never write anything I wouldn’t want anyone to read.

Carrying on, now.  Christmas was wonderful, stressful, filling, wretched, beautiful, soothing, chaotic, frantic and awesome all bundled into one.  I know you think this is not possible, to feel all those emotions and feelings all at one time, but believe me:  It happened to me.

Here’s some photos of the blessed holiday!

Dawson got obnoxious, loud toys for Christmas.

Dawson refused to sit still for a picture with his cousin Brittany.

Aunt Gail tried to put together his new Thomas track, with no success.  It may have been too late in the evening to fathom such a complex toy.

We finally put it together at home after much crying and whining.

All that work just to lay on the floor and watch Thomas go by.

Christmas in a nutshell.  Watching time go by….until we do it all over again next year!

  1. My family reads my blog. And I didn’t know it until Christmas Eve, but my husband’s family reads my blog, too. It’s weird - they know me a lot better than I know them now.

Looks like you had a great Christmas. Dawson is adorable!

  2. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I’ve been MIA, too. It’s just too much to blog and be Santa Claus, cook, clean-up lady, boo boo kisser, etc.

Hope you’re getting some chance to relax!

Also, my family reads my blog, too. And we got that same Thomas train for my little guy’s birthday. Hey, small blogosphere, eh? :)

  3. Well, Hallo Uncle Mikey! Welcome to the wide world of blogging!
I have some family who reads mine too…Not all of them, just a couple of trusted members…That is unless I don’t know about a few who searched for something and got me….

Anyway, your holiday sounds pretty close to mine! I’m grateful for the excitement and joy but happy its over…until next year.

Missed you. Glad you are back!

  4. I’m on my way to visit all of you as soon as I finish my post for BlogHer. I’ve been such a slow poke, blogging slug. Does this happen to anyone else?

And do y’all feel a bit weird, knowing your family reads you? I just don’t know how I feel yet. ;)

  5. In a moment of complete insanity on Christmas Eve, I wrote down my URL for my Stepmother and said “come to my blog any time if you want to see photos of the kids!”

What the the heck was I smoking????

  6. Santa brought Aidan that same train set!

    Welcome Uncle Mikey!

And I’ve been exhausted too…fighting a cold that hit me Christmas Eve night, leave it to MOI to get sick at Christmas! Glad ya’ll had a good one though!

  7. I’m sorry. I read nothing else except the Uncle Mikey stuff.

If I had a dime for everyone trying to find the REAL Queen of Spain…I’d be very rich.

And I say make him blush back…how does he not notice it’s a blog and then find stuff about bJ’s???? Huh???

    Tee hee hee

  8. The train set is a fave in this house.

Queen…he was embarrassed about reading my response to your post. Then I felt goofy. It’s odd knowing a family member read me! :)

Elizabeth….I’d never go that far, I’m too shy!!!
