Welcome

I haven’t quite figured out this Word Press stuff yet. It’s very complex, but it looks so easy. I launched this blog a few days ago and managed to get three posts in, but then I thought I was all smart and internet savvy and played around with a few things and then lost everything. I frantically tried to fix it and realized I made more mistakes, so I learned quickly how to uninstall and reinstall Word Press all over again.

Never again will I touch anything until I talk to those fabulous girls at Swank Web Styles first! Lesson learned!

I must apologize to all the bloggers who visited me and left me such nice comments the first day. I didn’t mean to delete everything — this is a learning process for me and I hope to become better at this stuff.

Lately, I’ve been so busy with life. The last few weeks have flown by. It seems that with the seasons changing, my work schedule and family time has become chaotic. I also haven’t really blogged much in the past two weeks. For that I apologize. I miss everyone terribly. I haven’t even had the chance to blog walk either!

This past Wednesday was my first night teaching CCD at St. Bronislava parish. My sister Rachel is co-teaching with me. Let me just say: Eighth graders are scary. It’s up to us to teach these young adults to be active in their Catholic faith. Because I am to be a role model, I’ve been dedicating much of my time to refreshing my brain on Catholicism. It’s been quite a journey for me, one I’m looking forward to sharing with these youths.

Dawson, my Doodlebug, is two years old today. I’m sad that I’m stuck working 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on his birthday, but I know he will forgive me. He will understand that in order to buy his birthday presents, I had to go to work. I know he’s having fun at his Nonna & Poppa’s house. They may even keep him overnight so I can clean the house and prep dinner for Dawson’s little party tomorrow.

I can’t believe how fast time has past. It often feels as though I gave birth to this precious boy just yesterday. Dawson has grown so much. He’s learned so many new skills. He’s talking and imitating words often. He amazes me. He even has developed his personality.

Just yesterday, I was at the computer trying to fix my Word Press errors and he desperately wanted my attention. Even though his favorite Auntie Rachel was over to play, he came to my side and said, “Mumma!” I didn’t immediately respond and when I did I said, “Yes, Dawson. Just one minute…” To which he replied, “Muuuuummmma!” and pinched my arm. When I looked at him he said, “Hiiiiiiiiii!!!” Instantly tears came to my eyes. He wanted me to see his smiley face and shower him with kisses, and I did. He’s too adorable. I still pinch myself to make sure I’m real. To make sure I really am his mother and that I’m not dreaming. It’s a crazy feeling, but I love it. I love him.

Doug and I have been making more time for each other, too. Most of the time we work opposite work schedules and barely have time to connect with each other and talk about our days. But lately, we’ve made the most of the time we do spend together. Last Saturday I took him to dinner at Noodles & Company which opened fairly recently in our town. The dinner was delish! I had the Penne Rosa and he had Japanese Pan Noodles or something like that. We sampled each other’s plates and just enjoyed the silence. No toddler temper tantrums. His mother babysat for the hour we were gone. I know an hour isn’t very long, but to us it was rejuvenating.

Work has been hectic. I won’t even begin to describe it, because I don’t want to ruin my good mood.

I’ve been reading a lot lately, too. Most are political books, but I did manage to start reading The DaVinci Code. I bought the book ages ago and finally started reading it. So far, I like it.

My newest post is up at WatchBlog.com, also. Take a walk over there and leave a comment if you dare. The peeps are vicious attack dogs sometimes!

I’ve also found some ads/commercials that are politically motivated. I may have to share them with you in a few days.

That is about all that is new with me. Welcome to The Dana Files. I am hoping to have my design layout installed here soon. I miss the colors and my blogroll!

Happy Saturday!
