Though I wouldn't hold a turtle either. Once when Steev, my teen, was very young, we got him a pet terrapin. Kept it in our yard and one day, he just vanished. I guess we'll never know what happened to him but Steev figures he must've escaped from his little 'house' in the night, got on the road and got run over. Poor thing! Sob!
